I have learned some new technology to be used in class. I met some wonderful people from other schools. I feel I have made some life long friends. Hello Bloggers, Today is Wednesday only two days left. we spent the morning learning how to start you own business. Our group choose to start a tutoring service. We named it Full Circle Learning. The afternoon was spent with Dr. Straughter. She shared information on how to take care of yourself. I am glad we had this presentation because I don't think enough people understand how much stress teachers are under. We are counselors, mothers. mentors, mother and fathers. We must learn to take time for ourselves so we can be productive for our students. We also talked to an educator form Brazil. We learned of the life, culture and education in the country. Hello Bloggers, We had a great day in GAETI today I learned how to create a video using adobe sparkle. I will use this in my class because it is a good tool to help students. Dr. Lee had us to create a newspaper page interesting. I did some thing s that Dr. Lee couldn't explain.😓. But he finally figured it out. We created a video using adobe sparkle to introduce our student to the class o the first day. One of the participants had a great idea of using that for when the teacher is out informing the students of what they need to do.         The afternoon was spent learning how to use Prezi in the classroom. Mrs. Agnew showed us some useful templates for the classroom. I thought it was difficult but it is easy create presentations. I have seen some great tools hope I can remember to use this in class. hello Bloggers, This day 16. I created a newspaper page today. I am excited because I actually understood the process and was ale to do it. Today is Friday and it is day 15 of the GAETI 2017 Institute. It is also 3/4 of the way to being at the finish line. Oh I almost forgot it was payday too.😊😊😊😊 So you know today was goooood! The Assiatant Secretary of the State, Mr. Martin shared a wealth of information on how to srtart your own business from an educator's point of view. He also showed how to use the website sos.gov in ur classrooms. The afternoon as spent working on that ART p;roject and our other assignments getting ready for our presentations next week. That art project is about to get the best of me, but I refuse to give up. I am still hanging in there. Well that's all for today. Talk to  you all Monday. Talk Later Jettie

Hello Bloggers, This is Thursday. The first we did this morning was a presentation by Ms. Fulton. She showed us some useful websites to use in our classroom. We edited our videos we made yesterday and presented them to the rest of the group. The videos were pretty good Yall! Hello Bloggers, Awesome day ! We made videos today. Dr. B made do the tutorial all by myself. I appreciate her diligence. I enjoyed the experience. Art was good we cut glass.It looked hard but it was quite easy. I am learning a lot about art. I just hope I can get my project put together correctly. That afternoon was spent with Dr. Lee teaching Canvas 101. It was a great lesson and very useful information. It is a lot of information to remember. I wish he had a handout to accompany the lesson. I would really like to use this in my class but I know I won't remember all the steps an information.😏😏😏😏😏😏😏 See you tomorrow Jettie

Hello Bloggers, Today is Tuesday June 20th .Today was filled with technology. We learned how to add voice to our power points. It was fun hearing my voice recorded. Hello Bloggers, I am back. Today is day 11 of the institute. I really enjoyed Dr. Lee today> he is very very good. I especially liked the fact he didn't mind helping the slow learners like me. Hello Bloggers, This is day 10! I have made it 2 weeks. Today was off the chain. I learned some very important information about technology to help the special needs children. I did not know of these services. I can't wait to share with my district's Special Ed. Director. We also had a good session on formative assessment . Mr. Putnman gave use some great websites to use in our classrooms which was free. i will use this information and I will share it with my co-workers. Dr. B. showed us how to make board games on power point and xcell. Although I don't think I will remember how to use it. Hopefully I will. See you Monday Jettie

I am back Bloggers, Another great day at the GAETI Institute 2017. Today we planned a weather unit using the backward method. I learned some interesting information from other educators. I learned how to use pluckers in the classroom. I will try  it in my classroom this coming fall. Again art was fantastic. Mrs. Latham she is so energetic! Love it she keeps you smiling. Hello Bloggers' Another day of GAETI reporting to you. We started the day with lesson planning and what would be a good method of planning. We learned about backward planning. that is creating your assessment before you write you plan. A great idea.  I would share with my colleagues why backward design starts with you end result by explaining to them if you start with knowing what you want your students to learn you can plan better. Everyone know a good lesson always starts with good planning. One idea I learned  I will use in my class is the scratch off cards. It is a great to to use for assessment. You could also use it as a method of getting student comfortable with grouping. Dr. Huang conducted the day it was great. We also talked to a teacher from India. She was quite informative about her life as a teacher. For the most part her life is pretty much like a teacher's life here. Blog later Jettie

Hello Bloggers, Today we started  the day by watching a power-point on weather forecasting. We constructed our own weather forecast.  We made a timeline of the formation of Earth. In constructing the line I realized there was a long period of time where nothing  really changed on Earth. that was a good activity. Next we worked on our art project. LORD HELP ME! I am not an artsy person. Only God knows what my finished product will look like. But Mrs. Latham is very patient. I hope it lasts. I have this feeling I am going to test it.😄 The rest of the afternoon was spent listening to Nick schooling us o the Native Americans. Finally we viewed a very good workbook on how to get your student reading and writing in the Science classroom. See you later Jettie

Hello Bloggers, I am back. I made through the first week  of GAETI it was wonderful. We are starting a fresh new week. Today we wen to Hilburn Hall and learned about weather forecasting. we had an interesting  talk from Bryce Touchstone on the different places he has lived. It was very good information. If I ever leave the country I know not to drink the water and eat the vegetables😃. The best part of today was the art activity with Mrs. Latham. Looking forward to tomorrow's art activity. Hello Bloggers,   We went to a COAL mine today.  the tour was very,  very interesting. the tour itself was informative and we got to see how the mine and them extracting coal really works. I think this would be an experience my students would actually find enjoyable and interesting. The staff was super nice. They fed us lunch which was delicious. We all hear of coal of being a nonrenewable resource we got yo see first hand why. I was glad to see how they restore the land after they have mined it. In the past the land was often stripped and gone to waste. Mining is a much different process now. it is a much safer occupation for the land and the workers  .TODAY WAY A GOOD DAY. Looking forward to the rest of the workshop. Hello Bloggers,  We have completed day 3 of GAETI 2017. Another great day. it started with a mining experience with a chocolate chip cook. That was a tasty experience. We learned different short cut on how to make PowerPoints from Dr. B. We learned many uses of Google Maps and Google Earth. I viewed my home on line interesting. I think the most enjoyable event was the kinetic exercise outside orbiting the Sun. Great Day See you tomorrow😰😰😰

 Today is day 2 of GAETI 2017 Today was another good day. It started with great information of maps. We went to the library and learned how to use Excel. I wouldn't say I'm an expert, but I do feel more comfortable with the program  doing easy stuff. The lecture of African American History was very interesting and informative. The activity I really enjoyed was the political cartoons. I feel my student would enjoy this as well. Another great day! See you tomorrow

Day 1 June 5, 2017 Hello  Everyone,     Today was my first day of GAETI 2017. It was awesome! Mrs. Latham greeted you with such energy it made me feel very comfortable. I was a little apprehensive about it at first, but the first day was great. Looking forward to the nest 19 days. We had to travel in the rain to purchase our parking permits but I didn't even mind that because I got to meet new people and make new friends. I think this will be one of the best workshops I will ever attend. See you tomorrow.
